Welcome,
I’m Ashley and I am both a bride-to-be and a salon hair stylist. I wanted to start this blog and dedicate it to helping all the brides make sure their hair is as beautiful as they dreamed it would be on their special day. I will be going over tips and tricks on many subjects that should help you determine what you want to do with your hair on your special day. I am a stylist and see many beautiful brides come through my salon. I get so much satisfaction when a bride leaves my salon with a big smile on her face, knowing I provided them with something they will remember for the rest of their lives. Although I know that your hair is not the only part of the wedding, it is a large part since you have no way to hide it if you are not happy. I will be writing a wedding hair guide in the near future and hopefully I can finish it well in advance of your special day. The guide will cover all things that have to do with wedding hair including; Wedding hairstyle suggestions for different types of gowns, hair lengths, hair types, veils, accessories and many other topics. I will also talk about what you need to do, months in advance, in order to achieve the look you want. Stay tuned for this helpful guide and in the meantime, enjoy the site.
Brides in this day and age have many different options, but one thing that is for sure is that the wedding day is not a time for a bad hair day. Like most brides, if you want your hair to look absolutely gorgeous, then you’ve come to the right place. When it comes to wedding hairstyles, there are two kinds of brides. There are brides that want a dramatic change but still appropriate for the occasion, and there are brides who want something simple and elegant. Of course, it is also possible to achieve both an elegant and dramatic look at the same time. Many brides even opt for additions to their natural hair, including hair extensions and jewels. It all depends on your choice and how you want your hair to look on your wedding day. With the help of PerfectWeddingHair.com you will be able to achieve the look you desire. A few quick looks can be found below:
One beautiful and elegant hairstyle that you can wear on your wedding day is the sleek pony, which has been worn by celebrities like Beyoncé, Diana Argon and Emma Roberts. Whether you have medium-length or long hair, your hair will shine with a sleek pony. On your special day, your features will take center stage, looking perfect when you pull back your hair from your face. If you have a traditional veil it will easily fit over a sleek pony or if you plan to wear a jeweled accessory, you can add it to the pony’s knot.
Whether you have straight or curly long hair, you can style them into romantic cascading curls for a dramatic yet elegant look. Go for curls that fall in loose waves and will ripple as you glide down the aisle toward your groom. You can accent this hairstyle by wearing an ornamental hairpiece or a headband veil.
If you have hair that falls to your shoulders or longer, this is a wedding hairstyle that will look really versatile and work very well. Whether you have curly, straight or wavy hair, you can twist your bridal hair into a half updo and accent with ornamental combs or hairpins. For a romantic look, you can wear this style with a side-swept bang. For a softer look you can loosely style your half updo or you can include braids. Other ideas on updos that suit your face shape can be found here.
A high updo is also called a chignon. In the past, many brides have worn this classic wedding hair style and it is still worn by many brides of today. You must have shoulder-length hair or longer in order to wear a chignon. If you have shorter hair, then you can add hair extensions to transform your hair into this style. Typically, a chignon is a bun-shaped hairstyle, but in comparison to a simple bun, it is far more intricate and elegant, and is a lovely way of showing off an antique hairpin.
Just like the chignon, you must have at least shoulder-length hair if you want to wear the classic French twist hairstyle on your wedding day. You begin a French twist as a pony, but then you will twist, lift and then wrap your pony with hair from one side of your head. After tucking the ends into the twist, you can use bobby pins to ensure they stay in place. You might want to tuck flowers into the twist or wear a beautiful jeweled accessory, if so then this is an ideal wedding hairstyle.
Typical bridal hair accessories include flower studs, glittering princess tiaras, jeweled hairpins, lace Juliet caps and simple pearl headbands. If you want wedding hair accessories with your wedding hairstyle, make sure you determine how you will be wearing your hair when shopping for hair accessories. Whether you have long or short hair, a tiara will look great on you and if you want your wedding hairstyle to look versatile, you can also wear jeweled or flowered accessories.
Your hair frames your gorgeous face and is your crowning glory. Keep in mind that your wedding day is a very special occasion where you cannot afford to not look your best and this is why it is fair to get fussy about your hairstyle. I hope I can help you find remarkable ideas that will help you achieve the perfect wedding hairstyle.

I did the updo thing for my wedding and your right a lot of girls do that for some reason, I guess it is because it is supposed to make you look more formal. My son is going to get married in about a year so his fianc is trying to grow her hair out so that she can do something special with her hair, I will have to show this post to her.

This is a great site for brides-to-be they can get great ideas from here. I was watching the pictures go by and there are some really pretty pictures that I would like to try with my hair just for fun. I’ve already been married and don’t plan to ever do it again so I won’t need them for a wedding. I think it is nice to just look pretty once in awhile.

Susan,
There is nothing wrong with wanting to look beautiful! Even though this site is dedicated to brides, it does not mean that others cant benefit from it. Thanks for the kind words.

You pretty well explained what a Chignon is but to picture it in my mind I have to ask is it like a bun? I sort of like those when they leave the little pieces down that curl and lay against their cheek. I don’t care for a tight bun at all though. Thank you for showing these. It will help when I go into finally selecting the hairdo I want next spring.

Hi Johnni,

It amazes me what women go through for their wedding day. I’m so glad that I’m a guy and all I have to do is get a hair cut and get dressed. I realize that this is her special day and all but I think sometimes they go to a little to much trouble. Is there anything I can do to help my Fiance in this process?

Jason,
You said it right… You are a man and probably wont ever fully understand why women go through so much to make this day so special. That’s awesome that you want to help your fiance in the process. A lot of men don’t want anything to do with the planning. I think the best thing you can do is to direct her to this site and be supportive with the hairstyle she decides on.

There is nothing more beautiful to look at than a bride with an elaborate hair style. I especially love to see elaborately arranged braids, both thick and thin. I freelance as a photographer and I just love to implement braided hair styles for the models in my photo shoots. I wonder if this stylist is adept at doing braids of various types.

I dug a little deeper into the links that were on your page and there are some really pretty hairstyles out there for weddings. I would like to see more hair down styles though instead of so many updo’s, my future daughter-in-law is growing her hair out so she can wear it down for the wedding so I would like to give her some place to go for ideas.

I love the cascading curls, do you have to get a perm to that or can you just set it or use hot rollers the morning of the wedding? I know women that wouldn’t have to worry about it because they have naturally curly hair but for those less fortunate like myself what would you recommend. The French twist is really nice as well.

Oh this is perfect, you have so many to choose from it is great. Now my future daughter in law just needs to figure out if she is going to wear it up or down then we can seriously look at some of the links you have and find something really pretty for her. Great article and so timely in my life.

To me the perfect hairstyle for any kind of formal event is the French twist, if it is done properly it has a loose soft look to it yet it is up out of the way. This is a great place for brides to be to start looking for the details of the wedding that they won’t think about because they will be to busy. Great idea is there also one for make-up ideas?
