Changing Hair Color and Texture Before Saying “I Do”

Hair Color

A bride who is preparing for her big day does not only think of how the event will be, but also constantly envisions how she wants to look on this very special day. Naturally, she has to be at her most beautiful. She knows that part of looking her best is having a good hair day. After all, her crowning glory will be one of the first things people will notice about her as she walks down the aisle. This is why a lot of brides are torn about changing their hair color and/or texture right before their wedding.

Changing Your Hair Color and Texture

Are you planning to have your hair colored, permed, or straightened before your wedding day? Have you been imagining those golden curls cascading across your shoulders as you stand beside your beloved in front of the altar, or does your vision consist of shiny and silky black strands of hair perfectly falling at your bare back? Whatever you are planning with your hair, just be sure to carefully consider before going ahead with it in a spur-of-the-moment decision.

If you intend to subject your hair to chemical treatments such as hair color and perming, you should definitely have this done in advance. It is best that you undergo such procedure around two months before the wedding. This way, there will be enough time for your hair to recuperate and to adjust if it gets “shocked”.  You could also do a conditioning treatment to help it as well. If the treatment does not bring about your desired results, at least you will also have some time to think about the hairstyle you wish to don on your special day to match your bridal gown.

Of course you must also select hair color and texture that truly suits you. The entire package must be stunning, not contradicting. Be sure that this change will not be too dramatic. Your chosen hairstyle should still match your personality and sense of fashion as well as your body type, face shape, and gown design. Also make sure that this new hair color or texture choice is not something you may regret in the future.

What’s more, you have to make certain that your fiance appreciates your new hairstyle. It is advisable not to surprise him in this regard. Also, it would be nice if you can get the approval first of your close family members and dear friends.

Achieving a Look of Beauty and Elegance

Since you are painstakingly ensuring the beauty of the celebration and carefully planning the theme and decor too, then you should definitely also make sure that your look will go with the surroundings. You have to stand out yet blend in too.

It is therefore recommended that you stay away from unnatural hair colors and exaggerated cuts and textures. This way, you can still preserve the chic and elegant feel and look of your entire wedding. You will also avoid shocking the guests too much and perhaps regretting this when you are looking at the photos years from now.

Weddings should be beautiful and elegant. So should you. Thus, be wary about your choices of hair color and texture for your wedding. Part of this is to also make sure that your hair change is done by a real professional who is greatly experienced already. As a result, you can avoid problems such as irreversible damages.

Making the Final Decision

In the end, the final decision is still up to you. Go over your options carefully instead of being spontaneous and adventurous. Find out the actual products that will be used on your hair as well as the process involved. Furthermore, do not take too long deciding because you have to complete this treatment way ahead of that big day.

If still uncertain, you can always consult a professional and highly skilled hairstylist who can give you suggestions on which styles will suit you best and make your beauty shine more. A reliable and trusted hairstylist can explain to you the possible consequences of a certain process along and also recommend the best products for your hair type and style.

Picture yourself sporting your gorgeous new locks as you waltz with your partner on the dance floor. Smile and be happy and confident with your hair color and/or texture, and you will certainly radiate as a beautiful bride.

This was a very good article for dying your hair but it still scares me and especially if it is going to be my wedding day because there are too many times that something can go wrong and you end up with orange or red. I think for someone like myself that hasn’t dyed their hair the best thing to do is go with your natural color.
